QuoteTracker supports the Dragging and Dropping of a symbol to and from many of the windows in the program:
Moving/Copying within a portfolio, to another portfolio or Watchlist:
|
As you select a symbol to be dragged by holding down the left mouse button, note how the tail of the mouse pointer is "dragging" the selected symbol. You can now let go of the left mouse button and "drop" the symbol within the same portfolio (rearranges symbols), another open portfolio window (moves the symbol) or to and from the Watchlist. You can also drag symbols from the Most Actives and streaming Option Chains windows. The symbol will be dropped (moved) to the red insertion point location. Hold down the SHIFT key to copy the symbol to another portfolio or from the Watchlist rather than move it. Dropping from a portfolio to the Watchlist will always copy the symbol. Notice the trash can that appears as you drag the symbol. You can drop the symbol on the trash can to delete it. This option (display of the trashcan) can be turned on or off in Miscellaneous options of Preferences. |
To other windows in QuoteTracker:
You can also drag and drop a symbol to any of the windows that accept a symbol such as the Intraday Chart, Historical Charts, Level II, Raw Data/Time & Sales and the Trade panel. This will activate the window using the new symbol.
From windows and applications outside of QuoteTracker:
You can also drag and drop a symbol from any window outside of QuoteTracker that supports OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) such as Microsoft Word, Excel and your internet browser window. This is done by highlighting the symbol in the other application and dragging it to one of the QuoteTracker windows or Portfolio/Watchlist (to add a symbol). Standard Copy (CTRL C) and Paste (CTRL V) is supported as well.
