This tab, accessed by selecting Data Sources/Proxy from the Options Menu or the MENU button on the main screen, is used to setup and select the site(s) to be used for Backfilling of data for the historical charts:

 

 

Select the site from the Site drop down list and enter the Login Information (if required).  The backfill site does not have to be the same as the site selected for quotes.  If you want to use the same site for backfill as for quotes (assuming the quote site supports backfill and is listed), select --- DEFAULT SITE HISTORICAL DATA --- from the Site drop down listfrom the Site drop down list and the program will automatically use backfill data from the selected site for quotes.  If your quotes site does not support backfill,  the system may automatically assign one of the free data providers (BigCharts) for historical backfill, if appropriate, as the default site.

 

The chart is automatically populated with historical data when a (new) chart is opened and re-populated when the chart data is cleared on a historical chart.  Manual (on demand) backfill is also available at any time from the menu options.

 

Calculate last candle from L1 data: If this option is checked, the most current (last) candle is updated automatically from the L1 quotes data for the symbol. The data used is Open, High, Low and Close (Last) for the symbol already updating in QuoteTracker such as in a portfolio or watchlist . The data is updated on the chart is updated at the chart refresh interval selected in Chart Preferences for the historical charts.  If this option is not checked, the last candle data will only update when manually backfilled.
