In addition to the main dynamic and interactive Historical charts available, QuoteTracker also provides static historical charts from external websites as an option. The main source for these static Historical Charts are the snapcharts from ProphetCharts and are retrieved from http://www.prophet.net. You can acesss these charts from the right click pop up menu or the Charts menu.
Set up the options and indicators you would like to see and click the Draw Chart button. QuoteTracker will then retrieve the specified chart and display it. If you would like to see a different stock's chart, change the stock symbol in the yellow text box, labeled Symbol.

Clicking on the pushpin will link the window to the selected color group.
The chart can be maximized or be resized like any other window in Windows by dragging on the sides and corners. Since the display is simply a picture (no underlying data) you must click on the Draw Chart button to activate any changes to the chart such as a re-size, to retrieve more updated data or a change to a selection.
Trend Lines Placing your mouse on the chart will change the cursor to a crosshair. You can draw/edit lines on the charts to help you detect trends. You can also modify the lines that you already drew. Click on the line to select it. You can then move it around, or drag the ends to change the start and end points. You can delete the line by selecting it, then hitting the delete key on your keyboard, by dragging the line off the chart with your mouse or from the right click menu on the line. To clear all the trend lines, click on the Clear Lines button that will show up on the chart.

Fibonacci Retracements and Fans To see the Retracements/Fans on the charts, draw a Trend line, connecting two points and right click on the Trend line. Select Set to draw the Fibonacci lines. The Fibonacci percent levels to be used are set on the Chart Preferences screen. Options are also provided to Remove the Fibonacci lines and to Delete or make a Copy of the trend line to create a duplicate that can be dragged to a new location.

Emailing a Historical Chart Select Email the Chart from the right click pop up menu. The following screen appears:

Select the Picture Format to send. You can send as GIF (larger size but may be better quality) or PNG (generally smaller in size).
Enter the From Name and EMail address. Enter the E-Mail Server (SMTP outgoing mail) of your mail provider or select from the drop down list if you already have emailed previously and have a list of servers you already used. If the email server requires you to login to send email, check the Requires Authentication box and specify the login Name and Password of your email account.
If you already set this up for Email Alert Templates, you can check the Use the setting from the Alerts' "Email Templates" box and QuoteTracker will use those settings.
Enter the email address(es) you want to send the chart To and optionally enter CC and BCC recipients. To send to multiple email addresses, enter them separated by a semi-colon (;).
Enter a Subject and any Comments you want to appear above the chart. Press the Send button to send the chart. A progress dialog will appear.
If this is not the first time you are emailing a chart, some of the fields will already be filled in.
Set As Default/Reset to Default Configure one chart with the settings you want all the charts to have (size, Indicators, time period, etc). Once you have it set the way you want it, right click on the chart and select Set As Default from the pop up menu. All charts for symbols that do not already have saved settings for them will now come up with these settings. If you bring up a chart that does already have saved settings different from the defaults, you can reset it to default settings by selecting Reset to Default from the pop up menu.
BigCharts: An alternative source to Historical Charts (from Prophet) is BigCharts. These charts come from http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/. You can access these charts from the right click pop up on a symbol or the Tools menu. It is similar to the ProphetCharts except that are no right click menu options and the window can not be linked or resized.
International (non-US) Stock symbols: Charts for many countries are provided by prefixing the symbol with a country country and a colon (XX:SYMBOL), such as CA: for Canada. When possible, QuoteTracker will attempt to automatically convert and format symbols correctly for the historical charts based on the selected quote site. See a complete list of countries supported and their prefixes on the website of the chart provider.
Printing Charts: Although you can not print these charts directly from QuoteTracker, you can give the Chart window focus (click on the title bar of the chart) and press the Alt and PrintScreen keys simultaneously on the keyboard to capture the chart to the clipboard. Then, use a program, such as Paint or Word to paste (Edit menu) the chart into and print from there. Another way is to email the chart to yourself, as described above, and print it from the email program.
