Layouts

Print this Topic  Top of Page  Introduction

In QuoteTracker, there are many screens and windows that you can have open, arranged and configured to best suit your needs.  This workspace and its settings (layout) is remembered by the program from session to session so that you do not have to arrange them every time.

At times, you may want to use a different layout.  Of course, you can always re-arrange the screens (and settings) manually and then back again as needed, but that can be time consuming.  QuoteTracker allows you to create layouts that you can save and reload at any time.  This option can also be used to backup a layout for easy restore or to be used in setting up a layout on another computer.

Layout functions are accessed from the File menu.

Save Layout:

Once you have a layout that you want to save, select Save Layout from the File Menu. If you already have other layouts that you have saved, the list will appear in the menu. You can select one if you want to overwrite the layout with the new one.  To save a new layout, select Save As ... A Save Layout window will appear:

Select the folder to Save in and the File name you want to give the layout.  The layout file is saved with the SLT extension. Click Save to save the layout.

Load Layout:

To recall a layout that you have previously saved, select Load Layout from the File Menu. A list of saved layouts will appear in the menu. You can select one by clicking on it.  If the layout file is not shown in the list (may be in a dfferent folder), select Choose Layout ... A Load Layout window will appear:

Select the folder to Look in (where your layouts are saved) and the File name of the layout you want to load. Click Open to select the layout. Once selected, the layout will be loaded without a need to restart QuoteTracker.
