This tab allows you to make several customizations to suit your personal preferences.

Miscellaneous Options - A scrollable list of various preferences you can set:

Display Options:

Stripe Rows:  Show alternating striped rows on the main portfolio screen.

Color Last According to Range:  Will color the last column (Green/Red bar) based on the Daily Range %.

Highlight Daily Lows:  Highlight daily lows (and Last Price) in RED.

Highlight Daily Highs:  Highlight daily highs (and Last Price) in GREEN.

Note, Daily Lows/Highs can also be set up as alerts.

Solid Highlights:  Show highlights as solid blocks.  If unchecked, they show as colored borders.

Highlight whole row:  Highlight the whole row when a symbol is selected.  If not checked, only the symbol is highlighted and the rest of the line outlined.

Dynamic Bid/Ask Highlight:  Highlights the bid and ask based on the previous bid and

ask.  If the current is higher than the previous, it highlights in GREEN, lower, in RED, in the appropriate column.

Resize cols on Refresh:  Resize all the columns (widths) to best fit the data after quotes come in.

No +/- in colored cells:  Negative or positive numbers will show in color, rather than preceded by the + or - sign.

Minimize to Tray Icon: QuoteTracker will minimize to a small icon in the system tray instead of to the task bar when this box is checked.

Separate Taskbar Icon for each Open Portfolio:  If there are multiple portfolio windows open at the same time, checking this box will create a separate icon in the taskbar with the portfolio name appearing in the taskbar for easy access.  A change to this option will take effect after the program is re-started.

Watch List Always On Top:  Check this box to make the Watch List the top window when opened.

Sub windows not "on top": By default all windows such as charts are set to be on top of the portfolio window.  Check this box to remove the "on top" status such that click on the main portfolio window will bring it on top of these sub windows.

Show trash can while dragging: As you drag and drop symbols in a portfolio or Watchlist, a trash can icon appears allowing you to drop the symbol on it to delete it. With this option, unchecked, the trash can will not be shown.

Show Name/Notes when Mouse over Symbol: This option displays a tooltip showing the Company Name and Notes (if entered) for the symbol when you hover the mouse over a symbol in the portfolio:

Window Title Buttons:

These optins when deselected allow you to remove the buttons added to the title bars in the upper right of several screens:

Main Portfolio screen (Link, Help and Lookup buttons):

Intraday Charts, Historical Charts, Raw Data and Historical Data screens (Crosshair Sync and Link buttons):

Show Help Button: Brings up the help - same as pressing F1.

Show Lookup Button: Symbol Lookup.

Show Link Button: Allows you to link windows together.

Show Crosshair Sync Button: Syncs selected windows with the crosshair and data.

Calculate Portfolios Based On:

Select to base the portfolio total values on LAST, BID, ASK Price or depending on if the symbol is Long (Bid Price) or Short (Ask Price).

Portfolio Charts:

Select how the TOTAL line in the portfolio is to be charted:

$ Value - Total portfolio value in dollars.

$ Gain Today - Daily Dollar Value Gain (Change) of the portfolio.

% Change - Daily Percent Value Change of the portfolio.

Numbers Display:

Generally, all prices are displayed in decimal format.  Some symbols on some exchanges (still) use fractions when displaying prices.  The program automatically displays prices in fractions as appropriate.

Fraction Format:  When price display is in fractions, select the notation (format) preferred.

Digits after Decimal Point:  When price display is in decimals, select the maximum and minimum digits to display after decimal point.

API Server Settings:

Allows you to turn the built-in API Server On or Off and optionally select the Server Port number. The default port number for the HTTP server is 16239. The default port number for the Socket (Streaming) server is 16240.  They both can not be set to the same port number.

Window Move/Size Snap:

With this option on, you can better organize the program's windows by maximizing your screen space.  As you move or resize windows and they come close to other windows or screen edges, they will automatically snap (attach) to the other window's border.  The Sensitivity setting determines the minimum distance (in pixels) the windows must be in order to snap together.  The lower the setting, the closer they must be.  Higher settings will snap together when they are farther apart.

Web Browser Settings:

Select how you want web related windows, such as Ads, Research, Message Boards, etc. to display:

Default (Same Window):  Always use the same existing window.

Default (New Window):  Always open a new window, leaving the others as is.

Built-in Browser:  Use QuoteTracker's own Built-in Browser window.

Custom Browser:  Specify a browser of your choice.

Misc. Settings:

Notify me about Beta Updates:  Check this box to have the program pop up the update notification when a new beta version is released.  This option is also used to display beta program version updates in Webupdate.  Leave the box unchecked to be notified only of main releases of the program.

Auto-save stock data every X min:  The collected intraday data (used to build the Intraday Charts) is saved by default every 10 minutes.  If you prefer, you can specify another interval here.

Stock Table Refresh Rate:  Indicates how often the program should check to see if any rows in the portfolio have to be updated (refreshed).  For slower computers, you may want to specify a higher than the default setting.
