The Raw Data screen lets you view and manipulate the data for a particular symbol. This is the data used to build the live Intraday Charts. It is very similar to Time & Sales, however it does not necessarily record every tick, only those fetched from the site, i.e. one line may represent multiple ticks (quotes/trades) unless the site is one that streams tick by tick, in which case it would represent true Time & Sales.
To bring up Raw Data, select it from the Tools menu on the main screen, or from various right click menus (main screen, charts, ticker tape, etc.)

Clicking on the pushpin will link the window to the selected color group.
Once the screen is displayed, you can manually enter another symbol from your portfolios in the yellow Symbol input box and press ENTER to activate it.
All items are shown from latest down to earliest data. You can use this screen to simply view the data in a chart like fashion.
If LAST price is equal to or less than the BID price, then the price will be RED, indicating a sell. If LAST price is equal to or greater than the ASK price, then the price will be GREEN, indicating a buy. No color, indicates it is not in this range and it can not be determined whether it was a sell or a buy. The volume will have the same color as the Last price. If there is no change in Last price and Volume the will display as blank.
You can optionally (see below) have the high and low price of the day highlighted.
The Bid and Ask prices are color coded similar to the Dynamic Bid/Ask Highlighting option available in the portfolio. The bid and ask colors are based on the previous bid and ask. If the current is higher than the previous, the color will be GREEN, if lower, the color will be RED in the appropriate column.
If there was no change in volume (and last price) from the previous quote, both columns will be blank, indicating, no trade took place, only a change in bid and/or ask price.
A negative volume indicates that a quote came in with a later time stamp and a lower total volume than the previous quote. This most likely indicates a correction to total volume from the data provider and can be seen often at market open as the volume is reset.

This option brings up a dialog allowing you to define the minimum volume that is to be considered a block trade. Next, select how to highlight these items. You can select one or more from the highlighting options. Note that this does not exclude other lines from being displayed as the Filter option below. It simply makes these selected trades stand out. Checking No Highlight turns this option off. |

Highlight High/Low - If the price is at the high or low of the day you can select to have this condition highlighted (solid or outlined) by checking the desired display option. Checking None turns this option off.

Edit:
If the quote source (site) sends a bad quote (spike), you can use this screen to delete it. Select the row(s) containing the bad data and click this button or hit the Delete key on the keyboard. This option is also available from the Edit menu. To select several rows, click on them while holding down the Shift key (or use the right click menu pop up to Select All). Also see the spike filter setting in Preferences for Charts. This function is disabled if filtering by volume is on.
Click on this button to copy the data that you highlight to the Windows clipboard (tab delimited). You can then paste it into Excel or any other program. This option is also available from the Edit menu. To select several rows, click on them while holding down the Shift key (or use the right click menu pop up to Select All). For other ways to export data from QuoteTracker, please see the section on the QuoteTracker Server and Intraday Charts.

The Filter menu allows you to select the type of trades you want to see (based on volume). All others will be not be removed, only hidden from this display (it will continue to display on the chart). No Filter (OFF) shows all items. Trades Only (Vol>0) will show only those items that have volume. Block Trades (Vol>x) allows you to specify volume you want to show: |

Enter the minimum volume you want to show. All others will be filtered out (excluded) for display. When filtering is on, the Delete function is disabled.

You can select a specific date (dropdown list shows available days) and time or the Highest or Lowest (price) point for the symbol for quick access. The (nearest) Time, Highest or Lowest point row will then be highlighted (selected on the screen). This is useful for simply viewing lines of interest and for removing bad data points (spikes). You can also remove the lowest and highest points directly on the Intraday Chart by right clicking on a chart and selecting Spikes from the menu.
Note: There may be more than one High or Low point in the chart that have to be removed to display it properly. For more options in dealing with Spikes, see The Miscellaneous tab in Chart Preferences. |
