You can use this function to look up the correct symbol for any company. This window can be accessed from the Tools menu, the Edit Portfolios screen, by clicking on the button in the titlebar of the main screen or by pressing the F3 key.

 

 

Select a source for your lookup and enter the search item in the text box.  A list of Symbols and Company or Fund Names will be returned matching your search terms.  If you accessed this screen from the Edit Portfolios tab, clicking the Confirm button will insert the symbol into your portfolio.

 

Note, this is only to be used as a starting point as some sites may use different formats for the symbol and would depend on the site you select for quotes.  The best thing is to go to the website of the quote source and verify the correct symbol to be used.

 

The lookup button can be removed from the titlebar window in Misc. Preferences under Window Title Buttons.
