QuoteTracker can update any of the files that it uses, including the program itself, without making you go to any web sites and download any files. WebUpdate does all the work for you. You will be notified if there are any critical updates available when you start the program, with the following dialog:

At this point you can choose one of the following options:
Do Webupdate Now - Starts the Webupdate process.
Postpone It - QuoteTracker will remind you later about this update.
Cancel - You will not be reminded again until there is a new update.
If Do Webupdate Now is selected, this dialog will appear as QuoteTracker checks the website to see if there are any updates or new files available that it may need. The Webupdate can also be initiated manually at any time to check for updates, by selecting WebUpdate from the Options menu, from the MENU button or by clicking on the WebUpdate button at the bottom of the Preferences screen. |

If QuoteTracker finds that there are updates available, it will show you the list of files that are new or have been updated and let you select which ones you want:

QuoteTracker will only list the files that need to be updated. If the file for the site that you need does not show up, then it is either already up to date, or it is not available for the version of QuoteTracker that you are using
To have QuoteTracker update the files on the list, just click the OK button. QuoteTracker will display the progress of the update.
For most of the updates, you can just continue working once the update completes. However, some updates, such as the program executable itself, require that QuoteTracker shut itself down to complete. Prior to updating, QuoteTracker will prompt you to make a backup of the old version:

The next stage of the update shuts down QuoteTracker, so that it can update the executable:

After completing the update to the executable, QuoteTracker will automatically be restarted with the new version.
