Setup and symbol formats
|

NOTE:
You must have QuoteTracker version 3.3.3F or higher to be able to use eSignal datafeed with QuoteTracker.
If you have an older version of QuoteTracker, start QuoteTracker then select OPTIONS/WebUpdate and let QuoteTracker update all files.
When QT restart, let it WebUpdate again (you should be prompted)

SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
|
You can now use QuoteTracker to access eSignal Level I quotes, Level II, Backfill and streaming news. The proccess is slightly different than with other data vendors, so please follow the instructions below:

Download the latest version of QuoteTracker and install it. |
|
Get the latest version of eSignal software on the eSignal.com
web site and install it on your computer.
NOTE: you do not have to run eSignal software, but the Data Manager cannot be installed separately. It only comes with the install of their full software package |

Start QuoteTracker, select OPTIONS/Data Sources menu and specify eSignal as the data source on the QUOTES, Level II, INDICES, Backfill and NEWS/STREAMING tabs. On the Level II configuration screen, click on the "Reset all LII windows to this source" button.

If needed, click START button to initiate the streaming quotes.

SYMBOL FORMATS
|
|
NOTE: Complete symbol description and lookup for eSignal is too complex to be covered here. You can get detailed information on the
eSignal Symbol Lookup page.
QuoteTracker uses standard eSignal symbology. Some of the common eSignal formats are covered below.
US STOCKS - Just enter the symbol
US OPTIONS - The Option Symbol must use the folloing format:
O:{Underlying Symbol}{space}{TwoDigitYear}{Put/Call and Expiration Month Code}{StrikePrice}[{DayIdentifier}][=RegionalExchangeID]
NOTE: Fields in square brackets “[]” are optional.
Examples of new eSignal OPRA symbols for Standard Option:
O:MSFT 10B20.00 => Microsoft FEB 2010 Call for 20.00
O:IBM 10O100.00 => IBM MAR 2010 Put for 100.00
O:IBM 10O100.00=B => IBM MAR 2010 Put for 100.00 Boston Exch
The strike price is in 1/100ths. Please check with eSignal for further details
FUTURES - eSignal Futures Symbol formats
NON-US STOCKS - SYMBOL-EXC Where EXC is the exchange code. For example, LON for London, SWX for Swiss.
