OPTIONSXPRESS - QuoteTracker related help

NOTE:
You must have QuoteTracker version 3.3.0 or higher to be able to use optionsXpress Integrated Trading with QuoteTracker.
If you have an older version of QuoteTracker, start QuoteTracker then select OPTIONS/WebUpdate and let QuoteTracker update all files.
When QT restart, let it WebUpdate again (you should be prompted)

SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
|
You can now use QuoteTracker to access optionsXpress streaming quotes, as well as full integrated trading. To do so, please follow the instructions below:

If you do not already have QuoteTracker version 3.3.0 or higher installed, then please download the latest version of QuoteTracker and install it. |
 |
You must have your account set to allow "Site Access Via Software / XML API". To do that:

Login to your optionsXpress account
Click on the "Account" tab
Click on the "Profile" link
Click on the "Trading & Screen Preferences" sub-tab
Check the box to enable "Site Access Via Software / XML API".
Below is a picture of the corresponding optionsXpress screen

Start QuoteTracker and select optionsXpress as the quote source from the SITE dropdown list on top/right of the main QuoteTracker window. If needed, click START button to initiate the streaming quotes. |

For Trading, go to OPTIONS/Data sources menu in QuoteTracker, then click on TRADING tab |
 |
Select optionsXpress as the broker, then click on the ADD button to the left of ACCOUNT NICKNAMES field. Type in the nickname that you want to use for the account, click OK, then fill in the user name and password. |
 |
Open the TRADE and TRANSACTION panels by clicking on the corresponding tabs at the top of the QuoteTracker main screen, right below the menu.

Select optionsXpress as the broker you want to use for trading if it is not already selected. You are now ready to trade |
SYMBOL FORMATS
|
|
For stocks, just enter the symbol without any special prefix or suffix.
For options, you will now need to use a long option symbol. The format will be:
6 char ROOT Symbol, padded with ^ on the right side as needed. For example, F^^^^^
2 digit Expiration Year
2 digit Expiration Month
2 digit Expiration Day
1 digit C or P indicating Call or Put
5 digit Strike Price, Integer portion, with leading zeros
3 digit Strike Price, Decimal portion, with trailing zeros
For example, if you want MSFT 2010-04-17 28.00 Call, you would enter:
MSQ^^^100417C00028000
Other examples:
VFE^^^110122C00005000 - for T 2011-01-22 5.00 Call
F^^^^^100619P00002500 - for F 2010-06-19 2.50 Put
For futures, enter the Root, followed by 1 char month code, followed by 1 digit year. For example, ESM6 and NQM6
